BUYING returns pallets can be pretty hit or miss.

Sometimes you get loads of quality items that you can put to use in your own home and other times none of works at all.

Of course, that's the chance you take when you fork out for a returns pallet, since you don't know why any of it has been returned it's always possible that the items are broken.

When Emily Norris ordered a pallet full of electrical returns from Amazon she was hopeful that there'd be some bits she could use or sell on.

She explained: "When you order a pallet you can actually see what's in it, but you don't know why it was returned, so you don't know for sure how well it works."

Emily picked the electrical pallet because she had her heart set on some posh coffee machines that were include on the pallet's stock list, but to her dismay they were nowhere to be seen.

"The whole time I was going through the pallet I was pretty much just looking for these three Delonghi coffee makers because they were worth nearly £300."

"There's none in here," she quipped, adding "I feel a bit ripped off."

Apart from the missing coffee machines the bargain hunter got her hands on four of the same travel kettles, a mini electric chopper with a bent blade and four microwaves.

She did bag some good items like a Cookworks jug blender, which seemed to be working fine and just had a damaged box.

Weirdly, there was also a kettle that was no longer in it's box, despite the sticker saying it had been returned due to a broken switch it looked "really well used," Emily explained.

She added: "I'm really surprised that you can return it, there's limescale in it, like a lot, it looks like it's been used for years and years."

She also managed to find a posh toaster to keep, despite the sticker saying it wasn't heating up properly it appeared to be working fine.

Out of the four microwaves on the pallet, some of them looked to be never used, despite not being in their original packaging.
