I created a trendy floating nightstand using two Ikea items – it’s luxury on a budget | The Sun

A TALENTED DIY-er has created a trendy floating nightstand from two of the most unlikely Ikea items.

The finished result could only be described as luxury on a budget.

For her project, she used a small chest of drawers and an armrest.

Danish woman Kristine Kava (@kristinekava__) looked delighted at the prospect of her furniture flip in her post.

In her video, she could be seen smiling widely as she strode through the well-known furniture store with the makings of her “Ikea hack."

She held a Moppe mini chest with drawers and a Rodeby armrest.

They were unprepossessing items, but Ikea described the storage item at least as a " true classic with its timeless style."

Kristine, however, could certainly see their potential and set to work adapting them to her needs.

Her DIY skills and vision were impressive as she deconstructed the chest and reassembled it, with the addition of the armrest, in a fashion more to her liking.

By the time she had painted it an elegant shade of green and added stylish brass handles, she had created a little piece of luxury on a budget.
