A WOMAN has told of the shocking moment she found out she'd "accidentally" married her cousin.
Marcella Hill, who posts under the acronym @beingmarcellahill, took to TikTok and posted a video where she shares her story publicly for the very first time.
In the clip, she begins: "I was sitting on the couch looking for the baby we're about to have and I was on a family search site.
"I was like 'h look, grandpa's name, grandma's name, great grandma's name, great great grandma's name.'
"My husband was next to me on his own family search and was like 'oh that's funny – we have the same grandma and grandpa's names."
Marcella goes on to say how she looked at his line and realised it was the same as hers, so assumed he was still logged into her account.

"Then we start looking at it and we realise my grandpa is my grandma's first cousin," she explains.
Marcella says her husband then called his grandma while she called her grandpa and asked them if they knew each other.

"Sure enough they sure do," she says. "They lived together as they were growing up as children.
We're third cousins!"

She continues: "We have won a prize for being the closest related in a neighbourhood activity and when I go to my family reunion he gets to go to his too – at the same time."
Marcella captioned the post: "Funny story…I accidentally married my cousin.
"We had no idea our Grandma and Grandpa were 1st cousins. Oop!"
The post has since gone viral, receiving over 905,000 views and hundreds of comments.
"3rd cousins not a huge deal, you’re good – hilarious though," wrote one.
A second penned: "So in a way your baby is it’s own 4th cousin."
A third commented: "That's far enough apart lol. crazy coincidence though lol."
Meanwhile, a fourth added: "We're all cousins if you go back far enough."
