I gave my house a festive makeover for 84p using a bargain buy from Amazon – now others are rushing to do the same | The Sun

IT'S that time of year again, but have you started decorating your house for Christmas yet?

One mum showed off her festive window display and revealed it only got her 84p to do.

She took to the popular Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK to share her hack with other Christmas fans.

She said: "I was looking at window stickers but couldn't find any cheap ones… I brought an 8 pack of chalk pens from Amazon for £6.79 & drew my own display.

"I only used 1 pen & it still has loads of ink left in it so total cost of 1 pen was 84p!! Bargain."

The homeowner drew a winder wonderland scene on her window, complete with cute houses, Christmas trees, snow and even some hanging baubles.

The finished designed looks so posh, you'd never know it only cost her 84p to do.

Of course, you could do any design you like, from snowmen and elves to snowflakes and mince pies.

You could even get your kids involved and let them draw a design on their bedroom windows.

After she shared the finished result on social media other members of the group couldn't believe how stunning it turned out.

One said: "That's so pretty, I want to do this."

"I've just ordered pens to do this," a second quipped.

"Love this…. just need someone more talented than me in the art department to come do it for me," another wrote.

And someone else commented: "Very pretty. You are very artistic. Mine would look like a 2 year old had drawn it!"

Meanwhile, other people suggested buying window stickers from Shein if you're not confident in your art skills.

"Shein for window stickers, they're fab," someone suggested.

"I got window stickers from Shein last year and they looked great," another agreed.

"I had them too, didn't leave residue when I took them off," someone else added.
