WE all want our homes to look fabulous, without having to splash too much cash, right?

Well, one young couple recently purchased a 1890s terraced home and have been tirelessly working on its renovation.

The young couple, Duygu and Emmanuel, bought what they described as ‘the worst house on the street’ in May 2021 and have been working on its transformation ever since.

The first time buyers are known on TikTok as ‘homeofdts’ and have been sharing their transformation journey with their 14,700 followers.

The couple’s old home was very tired and needed a lot of work, but since moving in, they have completely transformed the bathroom, living room, kitchen and garden.

One of their recent projects involved giving their porch a glow up and we are very impressed.

The couple have given the inside of their home a glamorous, modern look and wanted to carry on this theme in their porch.

What was previously a very plain, brown tiled porch has been transformed into a glam, modern style, for just £14.

Yes, you heard that correctly.

The couple were able to transform their porch for just £14 thanks to a great Dunelm buy – some self-adhesive tiles.

These tiles can be used to decorate any area of your home – your kitchen worktops, backsplash, tables or even the floor.

Duygu took to TikTok to show off her porch transformation and uploaded her video with the caption ‘Budget porch floor tile transformation’.

She explained that the glow up cost just “£14 and a little time”.

Someone asked “Looks great, I bought these tiles too! Did they stick down okay as I read some reviews that they didn’t stick down the best?”, which encouraged Duygu to post a follow-up video, sharing her honest review of the tiles.

She explained: “Quick, honest review here – we purchased these stick-on tiles from Dunelm for £14 for a quick and cheap fix to make our porch look more presentable.

“To be honest, I found them to be quite sticky – the corner of one of the tiles on the left does rise a little bit but that’s because our tiles underneath are not level.

“It does say in the instructions booklet that you need a level surface underneath and these aren’t suitable for a porch but we ignored both of those bits of advice.

“You can’t even tell that one of the tiles rises up in the corner, it gets a 10/10 from us for £14.”

Duygu’s transformation video has clearly impressed many, as it has racked up a whopping 71.7k views.

It has 3,218 likes, 32 comments and 56 shares.

One person said: “So pretty!!!”

Another added: “Looks great and is a great option for short term use” to which Duygu replied “Thank you so much! Now that they’re on I’m thinking of keeping them there forever”.
