I lost my job but now I make over £8k a month as a stay-at-home-mum with my side hustle – I only work 10 hours a week | The Sun

IF you have young children and are dreading the thought of going back to work after your maternity leave is up, you may have just come to the right place.

One mum, Abigail Peugh, has revealed that you can still make a living, despite not having a typical 9-5, full-time job.

Abigail is a content creator coach and regularly shares videos to her TikTok account, revealing how she makes thousands of pounds every single month, thanks to her side hustle.

The stay-at-home mum has 60k followers and 366.6k likes on the video sharing platform and is eager to teach others about what she does for a living.

She revealed that she lost her job when her daughter was just eight-months-old and was fearful of what she would do next.

However, she didn’t let this get her down and instead, she decided to pursue user-generated content creation.

I’m a stay-at-home mum & I make £2.6k a week without a job – here’s how

I wasn’t being paid enough in my 9-5…now I make £72k a month with side hustles

Now, Abigail works just ten hours a week and can make anything from £5,300 to £8,835 a month with her savvy side hustle.

She explained: “I grew up thinking I would be a nanny for the rest of my life because I never knew how to make money being creative.

“Then, in 2017 I discovered UGC (user generated content) and it changed everything for me.

“In 2020 I was working 70-80 weeks for a company that took MASSIVE advantage of my skills and worked me so hard.

“At one point, I was doing all of these tasks (while only being paid for 40 hours a week): • FULL blown running their 100k+ IG (with a very engaged audience) with probably at least 6 hours every day spent online •Email marketing to a huge list •Product photos and editing •Influencer marketing •Setting up all their personal affiliates •And listening to over 50 voice messages a day (even on most weekends).

“The owners constantly told me they “loved me” & “felt like I was family”…and the manipulation was outright crazy. But I 100% fell for it.

“Then my daughter was born and I started only working the contracted 40 hours a week I was paid for, and they fired me for not working enough. That was my moment.

“I FINALLY stopped working for other people and went all in as a UGC Creator (after a few months of wallowing lol).

“Now I work about 10 hours a week as a UGC creator from home with my daughter, and make anywhere from $6k-$10k a month doing this.

“I make videos and take images for brands right here in my home”.

In a TikTok video, Abigail gave further insight into what exactly it is that she does.

She continued: “I promise, it’s nothing sketchy and it doesn’t require a degree to do it.

“It’s called UGC and it’s where you create content for brands to post to their social media that will run as paid ads on TikTok or Instagram.

“You never post the content to your own social media, which means you can have zero followers and still be a really successful UGC creator.

“And you can do it from the comfort of your home, like I do.

“I make the brands pay in full, first, before I do any work”.

Abigail’s video has clearly impressed many, as in just five days, it has already racked up 185.5k views.

It has 12.1k likes, 348 comments and 191 shares.

A third commented: “That sounds right up my alley…I need to know more”.

One user asked: “So you contact them before creating the content and establish how much money you’ll get paid? How is that possible with 0 followers?” to which Abigail confirmed “You will have to learn how to create content first! But unlike being an influencer, you don’t need a following for that!”
