IT'S the top brunch choice of millennials everywhere.
But, amid the cost of living crisis, many people are struggling to afford avocado toast on a regular basis.
So one woman has come up with a genius alternative – using peas.
"Now I love avocado toast but it hasn’t fit into my food budget in a hot minute," self-described "hot mum" Miff began her TikTok video.
"That’s when I discovered smashed peas.
"Let me show you how to make it."

She began by taking some frozen peas and defrosted them in boiling water.
After draining them off, she added lemon juice, basil, mint and garlic powder.
She also added chilli flakes for some spice, before blending it all together into a "chunky texture".
"Chuck it on some toast, add a poached egg and you’re done," she said.

"It is so good.
"You have to try this – I promise you, you will not regret it."

To which Miff replied: "You gotta give it a go it’ll become a new staple i swear (i could eat this every day i am obsesssedddd)."

"Ooh looks so good!! Avocados are so damn expensive," another added.
With Miff responding: "Right? I miss them but I just can justify the price for something that is so hard to ripen and then eat at the perfect time before it’s brown mush."
