ONE woman has revealed the shocking discovery she made about her long-term boyfriend – and three of her friends were in the same boat.

Lea Dallas shared the dating disaster story on TikTok, recounting the night she learned the devastating truth.

Lea's relationship drama took place when she was in middle school in the early to mid-2000s, but it was nonetheless "heartbreaking."

She and three of her best friends had all met their boyfriends online on the same social media site, Gaia Online, and they maintained long-distance relationships.

One night, she and all four of her best friends were having a sleepover when the host went to sleep.

Lea, missing her boyfriend, went on the host's computer.

I went on a first date & it lasted less than 2 minutes – he was rude so I left

I was stunned by who my date brought along the first time we met

"Hmm, I haven't talked to my boyfriend yet today," she thought to herself. "Let me log into my account."

That's when she noticed that her boyfriend's name – and three of her friends' boyfriends' names – were already listed in the username section.

She realized that their fourth best friend had been catfishing all of them for over a year.

"This sucked so bad to go through," Lea wrote on TikTok.

"It was super heartbreaking. You fall in love with this person for over a year and they end up being your friend," she said.

In a followup video, Lea said that she confronted the catfishing friend the next morning, but she was "gaslighty" and acted like it was a joke she was just waiting for her victims to notice.

"In my opinion, I think it was all about control & manipulation," Lea added.

"We were all wrapped around her finger, so I think she wanted to know everyone’s inner thoughts, unfortunately."

Quite young at the time, Lea said she had low self-worth, and she and her other friends all forgave the catfisher.

"We actually all stayed friends with her for so long, for so many years, and then as we grew older, started standing up for ourselves," she said.

They only stopped being friends with her during their senior year of high school.

Lea's viral video has been viewed 3.6 million times and horrified commenters have shared their shock at the big reveal.

When younger commenters asked why she never had video calls with her boyfriend, she explained that this was long before FaceTime, and it wasn't uncommon to sustain online relationships through email and IM at the time.
