A WOMAN has faced fierce backlash after painting her granite kitchen worktops because they were too "busy" for her liking.
Nicole took to TikTok to share the process of covering the grey countertops, as she said: "Would you ever paint your granite countertops?
"I’m sure the answer’s probably no but hear me out.
"I know a lot of people love the look of my granite countertops but they’re just too busy for me and they’re just not my style."
So a couple of years ago, she tried using appliance epoxy on her countertops.
While she was initially happy with how it looked, they didn't age well, with chips appearing here, there and everywhere.

She also didn't like that she could see the roller marks, so began the painstaking process of removing the old epoxy to start afresh.
Once that was done, she wiped the countertops with mineral spirit and taped the edges to make sure there was no resin spillage.
Nicole was then able to start painting, and admitted that the first strip of paint was more than a little nerve-wracking – despite the fact she'd done it before.
"This first step was by far the easiest," she said.

"However, I did need three full coats to really cover the busyness of this countertop."
She then had to "marble" the surface, using a grey paint to give the effect of marble.
After practising a LOT, Nicole then bit the bullet and started the process on the worktops themselves.
Once she'd done that, she used resin – one mixed with shimmer and one clear – to cover the surface.
She then used a heat gun to pop all the bubbles, and let the worktops dry before admiring the finished result.
"Ok look how beautiful they are – I’m obsessed!" she gushed.
But not everyone was convinced by the transformation – with some even going as far as to say it should be illegal.
"Just dropped the value of your home by $30k," one wrote in the comments section.
"Nooooooo why would you cover that nice granite!?" another added.
"It’s a no for me dawg. This should be illegal," a third raged.
"this should be illegal," someone else agreed.
While someone else argued: "So much hate and for no reason it looks great and it’s YOUR house not theirs so ignore all of them."
