I put $2 'damp traps' in my windows to stop condensation, they collect so much water in a week, it's brilliant | The Sun

A CLEVER TikToker has revealed her top tip for keeping dampness at bay.

At only $1.70, her home hack won't break the bank and is effective against condensation.

Heidi Ondrak (@duchessofthrift) filmed herself explaining the housekeeping method in a video on TikTok.

"I'm stuck behind my blinds because I promised you I'd show you the damp traps that I put in the windows to stop the condensation in the house," she said.

"So excuse the blinds behind me, let me show you the trap," she added.

She held up a clear bag with liquid inside attached to a hanger for ease of securing to a damp area.

"So that's been hanging up in the window there for a week," she said. "Look at all that water."

"So rather than my windows getting wet I've hung that little thing over there that's my dinky dangling in the window and you can see it's filling up with water," she added.

Heidi also filmed another damp trap, which she kept in her son's bedroom.

"This one this has been in there for a week, but that one it's only got a bit of water," she said.

"So obviously this room is not as damp, but I have been drying laundry in the other room so definitely recommending these little pound stretcher damp traps," she added.

The product is called the Vacplus Moisture Absorber Packets and a pack of 10 is currently on sale for $16.98 on Amazon.

She acknowledged that the contraption is typically used in closets, but works well for combatting condensation on windows.

"I think you meant to hang them in your wardrobe, but I've been putting them in the windows and my windows have not been wet in the morning," she said. "They're bloody brilliant."

The video drew in many viewers who shared their own experiences with the product in the comment section.
