SHE wanted to give her daughter a classic, timeless name.

But Jackie was left fuming when she discovered that the moniker she'd given her newborn was more than a little popular.


She took to TikTok to respond to the much-asked question "do you ever regret what you named your kid?"

"Kind of," Jackie replied.

"When my daughter was born, my husband and I could not agree on a name literally right up until I started giving birth.

"My birth was quite traumatic and I almost bled out afterwards, and in light of that my husband gracious was like, ‘I want you to go ahead and name her, you did all the work’.

"I pick Emma because I thought it was a beautiful and a classic name – I’m thinking Jane Austen, thinking ohh it’s such a beautiful name."

But when she left the hospital, she was informed that she'd given her child "the most popular name in my province and in my country for the last like three years running".

"There was even another Emma who was born on the same day, in the same hospital as my daughter," she said.

"And I doomed my daughter, for her entire school career, to be known as Emma and her last initial."

Jackie added in the video caption: "Sometimes i regret it, but I almost died, so she’d better love it."

People weighed in on her admission in the comments section, with one writing: "I once worked with 6 Emma’s and my bestie is also named Emma so I get it. For males it’s Adam or Ben."
