I started a side hustle to spend time with my daughters and save money – I'm inundated with orders & business is booming | The Sun

A GLAM mum started a beauty side hustle to bond with her daughters and save cash – now she's inundated with orders.

Lisa Johnston, 33, lives in Glasgow with her two girls Alicia and Tyla.

As the pair hit their teenage years and started to take an interest in beauty, Lisa realised she was facing big bills for makeup and treatments.

So instead of paying someone to do their lashes, Lisa underwent training and did it herself.

And the mum didn't stop there – launching her own beauty and cosmetics range LJ beauty after that.

Lisa told the Scottish Sun Online: “I started doing lashes as I have always been one for trying to save money where and when I can.

“The thought of having two daughters and myself who want lashes and the expense it would cost for all three of us made me decide to learn how to do them myself.

“After some research I found an even cheaper solution and brought out my own range of DIY lashes that can last up to two weeks.

“I was very nervous at first as I thought ‘what if no one buys them’ but business has been great.

“I brought out my own range of self tan and have now expanded to other cosmetics such as liquid blusher, beauty blenders and other products that are affordable.”

She added: “As a mum bringing up two girls on my own I know how hard and costly it can be.

“I am very proud of what I have achieved the last 2 -3 years.

“I have completely turned my life around from being the victim of domestic abuse for 6 years to the point I almost died due to a knife attack.

“I have worked extremely hard to build myself up to where I am today.

“I feel I need to teach my daughter that whatever and however hard life gets and sometimes you feel you can’t do it any more you keep going, keep pushing as you will always get there.

“It might take years, months weeks, but I want to show them that they can achieve things they thought they never could.”

We told earlier how people are always shocked when they find out Lisa's age – and regularly confuse her for her daughters' sister.

She told the Scottish Sun Online: "People are really shocked when they find out my age. I have had numerous ages thrown at me.
