I was homeless with two kids but finally have a council house – people slam me, saying it's a dump, but I won't give up | The Sun

A WOMAN who ended up homeless with two kids has hit back at trolls calling her council house a "dump".

After spending nine weeks cooped up in a hotel, they were finally able to move into their new home.

And while the mum acknowledges it's "far from finished", she insisted she won't give up on making it a dream house for herself and her kids.

The woman took to TikTok to share her story, kicking off with pictures of herself and her two girls in their hotel room.

"We had to live in a hotel room for 9 weeks. Still go to work and nursery and school," she wrote.

And when her youngest was sick with Strep A, she had to wash her clothes in the bath, adding: "She wasn't well at all, bless her, but she got there!"

The trio "just had each other", and the mum tried to make it as fun as possible in the hotel room for her kids – setting up movie nights and pamper evenings to keep them entertained.

They even marked her youngest daughter's third birthday in the hotel room.

But when she saw a property come up on the council website, she immediately bid on it – and showed it to youngest Nellie on their way into nursery.

They eventually got the keys to the house, and the mum "spent days" doing up her daughters' bedroom – with Nellie's first-ever bed to herself.
