I work in a school office and there are a few types of mum we really hate… the yoga devotee for one | The Sun

A WOMAN has taken to TikTok to share what it’s really like to work in a school office – and the type of mums that drive staff mad.

Emily Carman, known online as @delilahsmummy, regularly shares life updates and parenting tips with her 41,500 followers.

In a new video, Emily shares some of the strange phone calls she claims to have had during her time working in a school office.

She suggests there are a few types of mums that can be difficult to deal with – including the yoga devotees.

In one roleplay, Emily shares what happened when she called to inform a mum that her child had badly hurt themselves.

She said: “Hi there, it’s Miss Carmen calling. Your child has actually just fallen over and cracked his head open and you can see part of his brain exposed.

“I just wondered if you could come and collect him to be seen?

Replying as a parent, she added: “Right, well he is booked in for an after-school club today because I actually got to yoga, so is he going to have to miss that?”

Speaking as herself again, she replied: "Um yeah, like I said it’s quite a serious injury so he probably will miss club and probably other clubs while he’s healing.

“Okay, we’ll be there by half past one.

In another scenario, Emily shares a common argument she had with parents over school lunches.

“Hello, it’s Miss Carmen calling from the school. Billy’s just come into class and informed us he’s having a hot meal from school today, but he’s actually not booked in for one and he hasn’t got a packed lunch.

As the parent: “Okay.”

“Okay, so can you bring him a lunch, please?

“No, he can just have a school dinner.

Emily, speaking as herself, added: “Yep, so the problem with that is every other child in the school does book their meals, it’s a cost of living crisis and our bills have gone up, just like yours, and that’s why we get everybody to book so we’re not over purchasing food, so you are going to have to bring him a lunch.

“So you’re telling me my child’s going to have to go without food?

“Are you at home today?

“Yes, what’s that got to do with you?

“Okay, obviously I can see that you live one and a half minutes away from the school, so if you could pop a lunch up, that would be great.

“So you’re telling me that you’re refusing to feed my child?

“No, what I’m telling you is you didn’t book a hot meal and you’ve also not provided a meal, so you haven’t provided your child with lunch.

“I’m going to write this all over Facebook.”

Fans loved Emily’s honesty, with the video gaining more than 8,000 likes and 107,000 views.

In the comments, the content creator’s followers shared their reactions, with one writing: “As a school receptionist I totally feel this.”
