I work in Aldi – here’s the secret to getting discounts, it works every time and could save you lots of money | The Sun

AN ALDI worker has revealed the secret to bagging a discount at the tills- and it always works.

Fiona Forrester is a store manager in Glenrothes, Fife and has worked for the bargain supermarket for a whopping 20 years.

She has now shared her top tips to help customers slash their final check-out bill amid the cost of living crisis.

And her main advice is not to ignore items just because the packaging is bashed- as you could save money.

She said: "Products such as rice, pasta, cereal and tinned food are also reduced 30% if the packaging is imperfect."

And shoppers should consider visiting the supermarket more than once a day to check for reduced items.

She added: "30%, 50% or 75% discount stickers are applied to products at various points throughout the day as they approach their best-before or use-by dates, to help reduce food waste."

Fiona also suggested the best days to shop depending on your needs – from wanting to avoid a crowded supermarket to picking up unusual bargains.

She said: "Aldi’s middle aisle is iconic for bargain hunters across Scotland.

"For the latest offering from the Specialbuys range make sure to visit stores on Thursday and Sunday when the products are launched.
