A 35-YEAR-OLD woman says she's proud of her moustache and her husband doesn't have a problem with it.

Shyja from Kerala, India, says she has no plans to shave it off and regularly flaunts her unique look in public.

The mum-of-one said she noticed hair one day above her upper lip that began to thicken into a full-blown moustache.

Unlike other women, Shyja decided to keep it, which has made her quite popular in her local district.

Shyja is so proud of her hair that she's posted a picture of herself as her WhatsApp profile pic with the status "I love my moustache".

She told the BBC: " I've never felt that I'm not beautiful because I have this or that it's something I shouldn't have."

Shyja has hit back at critics who said men should only be able to sport a moustache and said it was up to her "what to keep and what not to".

She also said her husband Lakshmanan and her family supported her decision.

Shyja said she doesn't care what people think of her and has undergone several surgeries in the past few years, including a hysterectomy.

She said overcoming multiple health crises made her physically and mentally stronger.

It comes as 27-year-old women Klyde Warren stopped shaving her hairy beard despite "getting stares" and being told she's "disgusting" on Tinder.

Klyde says her fulsome facial hair is her favorite feature and refuses to let cruel comments from strangers knock her confidence.

Warren, from Nebraska, says she's taunted on dating apps for her hair but is determined to find a partner who loves her beard as much as she does.

The reason for her excess facial hair is a mystery and despite it affecting her love life, she says she's learnt to love her natural body, so negativity from other people does not bother her.

Warren said: "I get a lot of stares and people on Tinder will go out of their way to message me and tell me I'm disgusting and gross.

"It does bother me at the time but I'm quite confident. Nobody likes getting comments like that.

"Some people I date embrace it too much and just see it as my defining feature, but my last boyfriend was really supportive and loved my beard in a healthy way."

Warren first started noticing thick facial hair aged 15 and immediately decided to let nature take its course by ditching the razor.

She says her beard is easy to groom and just needs an occasional trim and to be washed once a day.

Warren said: "It started in school and I had a thicker moustache than normal.

"I just decided to embrace it straight away.

"My mum had something to say about it, she didn't like it at all and told me to get it under control but I didn't care. I refused to shave it.

"I just work on my confidence, it's ok to be a little different.

"A lot of people are self-conscious but you've got to learn to be comfortable in your own skin which can be really hard.
