A STUNNING mum-of-four has revealed she's "never felt this good" at the age of 60.

Hairdresser Laurie Meisak, from Hamilton, has spoken out about embracing your beauty as you get older after entering a beauty pageant.

She told the BBC that doing the competition has given her back her confidence and she was "loving life".

Speaking to Kaye Adams, she said: "You always do have a wee bit of 'oh should I or shouldn't I at my age now?' but, you know something, I absolutely love being my age.

"I think after you've had four children or however many children you have, you kind of lose your confidence a wee bit and doing pageantry has definitely given me my confidence back in life."

Laurie, who is also a gran, was one of the top-placed competitors in the Miss Great Britain over-45s category last month.

The youthful mum finished in the top three in the pageant's Classic section.

Speaking previously about how competing makes her feel, she said: “I feel wonderful. I’ve never felt this good in my life and I’ve loved every second.

“No woman should feel as if she’s past her sell-by date or has a shelf life.

"I think if I can do it anyone can.

"I feel 21 again and I’ve made so many new friends. It’s given me a new lease of life."

We told earlier how Laurie is often mistaken for her 28-year-old daughter Amy's sister.

The mum said: “A lot of people say we look like sisters.

"Amy and I look very similar. She changed her hair recently and it’s a similar colour so we look even more alike.

Amy, who also competes in pageants, was crowned Miss Great Britain at this year's glitzy awards ceremony.
