HALLOWEEN is right around the corner but there’s no need to spend a bomb on decorations when you’ve got a bin bag lying around.
We all know a savvy friend who used the odd refuse sack to make a fancy dress costume, but one TikTok mum has yet another use for the essential household item and it’s saved her a fortune over the spooky season.
A parent-of-two, who calls herself The Budgeting Mum, impressed over two million viewers with her quick and clever way to make a spiderweb from a bin bag.
She shared a video of herself creating the decoration with just a roll of bin bags and a pair of scissors.
The clip is captioned: “Halloween on a budget this year? Have fun with the kids making Halloween decorations together instead of spending a fortune.”
She adds: “You don’t have to spend any money at all to make precious memories with your kids throughout the year.”

The Budgeting Mum begins the video with a roll of bin bags and red scissors, which she holds in front of two pumpkins.
Next, she cuts a triangle out of the bag and continues to fold into a smaller and smaller version of the shape.

With this done, she cuts off a corner and begins using her scissors to snip into the shape and create the desired spiderweb design.
She unfolds her creation to reveal a perfect web to use as a table decoration or hang on the wall around the home.
The mum spent just £1 on her roll of bin bags, saving a fortune compared to store-bought Halloween decorations as one fellow mum pointed out: “Wow, and that would cost you £8 in Asda just for the one web.”
“This is awesome,” exclaimed another.
