THE kitchen is one of the most important rooms in the home to keep clean – and the sink is no exception.
But if you’ve been trying every which way and nothing is working, a cleaning pro has revealed their top five methods that get the job done in no time at all.
TikTok user @abitofeverything_natalie regularly shares cleaning tips and tricks with her 23,400 followers on the social media platform.
One of her most recent posts was all about making sure your sink is in tip top condition and that the plughole is completely clear.
Natalie wrote: “Because a slow draining & smelly plughole can be frustrating, here are my top 5 tips to keep them fresh and flowing.”
She then went through her list, starting with how a dishwasher table can also be used to spruce up your sink.

Simply place the tablet inside the sink, directly in the plughole, and pour boiling water from the kettle.
Then, the formula will go straight into the plughole and begin to work its magic.
Another alternative is to make a DIY cleaning solution with bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar mixed together.
Again, this can be poured down the plughole and, once it has frothed up, will clean the interiors of the sink.

The third tip that @abitofeverything_natalie encouraged her followers to try out was a hair removal tool, which can be poked down the plug hole to remove nasty build-up.
While the fourth was to purchase some Cillit Bang Soda Crystals, which, when teamed with hot water, also does the trick.

Finally, the fifth recommendation was to place a cleaning bomb insie the sink.
Once again, once warm water is poured over, the cleaning solution will run down the plughole and leave it fresh and clean.
