PLANNING a wedding is not only a stressful experience, but an expensive one too.
With so many different things to organise and pay for, it may seem like the costs are constantly racking up.
But one DIY Bride, known on TikTok as ‘diymywedding’, tried to keep the costs of her big day down and has taken to social media to share her wedding tips and tricks on how to do so.
Olivia recently married her soulmate in a beautiful wedding, but in order to keep the price of the day down, she made a lot of the decorations herself.
Olivia has racked up 72.3k followers and 1.2million likes on TikTok and has left many social media users very impressed with her DIY skills.
The bride explained that she purchased some curtains from IKEA to create her sage green decorations, which enabled her to save hundreds of pounds on expensive decorations for the day.

Olivia uploaded a video to TikTok with the caption ‘These Ikea Silverlonn curtains were the best buy for our wedding, we managed to use them in so many different ways and saved a lot of money!’
She said: “These are all the ways we incorporated these Silverlonn Ikea curtains to help us save a hell of a lot of money for our wedding.
“First things first, I’m sure a lot of you saw the videos of us making our own napkins.
“We also used them for tablecloths.

“These curtains are £14 a pair and you get a hell of a lot of material.
“We used thin strips and frayed the edges to make our vow books.

“This technique I also used for the bridesmaid hangers.
“And we used it on the top table as a table runner.
“Our colour scheme was sage and it was amazing how we utilised the curtains for so many different things and it brought the whole room together”.
In another video, Olivia showed exactly how she used the curtains to create napkins for the guests.
She uploaded a video with the caption ‘SILVERLONN curtains from IKEA have been the best buy for our wedding! We used them for so many things!’
The savvy bride explained: “We tied and folded all of our napkins.
“All of these napkins are actually made from curtains from IKEA, absolutely amazing, best buy for the wedding.
“If you’re having a sage wedding, you need to invest.
“All you’re going to do is fold them quite thick and then tie them with the fray on the outside.
“Then take your name place, tie it on, and we did a little bow.
“They are the perfect personalised gifts.
“Honestly I can’t recommend them enough, they are absolutely beautiful and I know they will tie in with our day just perfectly.
“We use 2 1/2 pairs for 95 napkins”.
TikTok users were very impressed with Olivia’s DIY wedding creations, with her napkin video racking up a whopping 434.6k views and 13.7k likes.
