NOTHING quite hits the spot like a delicious chocolate chip cookie when you’re craving something sweet. 

But one woman has revealed that she makes her own chocolate chip cookies and not only do they taste amazing, but they only take a matter of minutes to make. 



Becky Excell, a London/Essex-based food writer, recipe creator and Sunday Times best-selling author regularly shares her quick and easy recipes on a budget to her TikTok account.

She has over 172k followers on the video sharing platform and has four cookbooks – her latest a gluten free cookbook called Quick + Easy Gluten-free. 

Becky is air fryer-obsessed and in one of her recent videos shared her chocolate chip cookie recipe.

Becky explained: “Chocolate chip cookies in the air fryer – yes, you heard me right.

“Air fryers are not just for chips, as I hope this series is showing.

“They are for so much more than that, including baking.

“You just make your cookie dough as normal, chuck it in the air fryer and before you know it, you’ve got the most delicious, freshly-baked cookies.

“I keep balls of cookie dough in the freezer and just air fryer a cookie whenever I fancy one.”

Becky then gives further details on how to make the cookie dough.

She said: “Cream 125g softened butter with 100g caster and 100g light brown sugar.

“Add one egg and 1 tsp vanilla and mix.

“Add 280g of self-raising flour, half a teaspoon of bicarb and quarter teaspoon of xanthan gum and mix.

“Fold in 250g chocolate chips.

“Roll into balls and add extra chocolate chips to the top of each.

“Chill/freeze for an hour minimum.

“Air fry for 8-10 minutes at 160C.

“Leave to cool a little before moving, don’t move straight away.

“Yum”. 

Becky later added: “Make sure you don’t put in baking paper without cookies on it as it will blow around. It needs to be weighted down!” 

Clearly Becky’s video has impressed many, as it has quickly racked up 75.3k views. 

It has 1,647 likes and 278 shares.

Food fans loved the video and were eager to try making the cookies themselves.
