IF your hair is looking dull and lifeless, than no fear…because a hairdresser has revealed how you can get healthy locks in an instant.
A hair stylist at luxury salon Emmie Hair has offered five tips that'll keep your hair looking glossy and healthy – and the common mistakes that people always make.
USE A CLARIFYING SHAMPOO
In a clip shared to TikTok (@emmiehair), she begins by urging people to use clarifying shampoo "2-3 times a month to remove oil and product build up."
Clarifying shampoo will help to remove the buildup on your locks like hairsprays, mousses, and gels, along with minerals that can be found in hard water, such as chlorine fromswimming pools.
The build up of such products can cause hair to become dull and greasy.
SPRITZ WITH CLEAN WATER BEFORE SWIMMING
With summer in full swing, the chances are you'll soon be heading off on your holidays and splashing around in the hotel pool.

That's because the material can gather dirt and sweat and can quickly become a breeding gown for bacteria – grim!
BE GENTLE WHEN APPLYING PRODUCTS
The hair expert goes on to urge people to "gently pat" products into your hair when applying products.
She adds: "Don't aggressively rub or rustle."
The process is much kinder to your scalp and will prevent any breakages from occuring.
WORK OILS INTO YOUR HAND
While it's all too tempting to squirt oil straight from the bottle into your hair, the hair guru notes this is the wrong way to apply the product.
She says: "When using oils and serums, always work them into your hands before putting in your hair."
Applying oil directly to your hair can instead weigh it down and give it a rather greasy appearance – and let's face it, no one wants that!
