A MAKE-UP fan decided to put some of the most popular and famous foundations to the test to see which was the best.
She made her way through 18 different bottles of the make-up staple, giving each a detailed ranking as she went.
And while some failed to make the grade, others came out on top, including a Charlotte Tilbury dupe which she said hands down beats the real thing.
Phoebe – who runs a TikTok account @honestphoebe where she offers “100% honest beauty reviews, tutorials, hauls and more” – raided her cosmetic bag and tried out each one in turn.
All the while, she filmed her reaction and didn’t hold back her opinion, as she spoke openly about their pros and cons in her personal opinion.
Phoebe began in reverse order, as she said that her Make-up By Mario foundation had come in last place.

Opening up about the reason behind the score, Phoebe said: “I have dry skin and this even made me look greasy.
“It applies nicely but it’s just far too glowy for its own good.”
She continued: “In 17th place is the Clio Cushion Foundation, the new foundwear one.
“Normally I really love cushion foundations, but this one definitely is a little bit too drying and matte for me.”

Phoebe had a similar opinion about the number 16 product – Nyx’s Bare with me Blur foundation, as she dubbed it “not drying but matte”, which she said is not her favourite look.
Her Westman Atelier stick came in at number 15.
While she acknowledged that it has a “really nice texture” and is “really easy to blend”, Phoebe couldn’t believe the eye-watering price tag of £62.
She said: “I don’t believe any foundation should be that much. And, also, this did not last very well throughout the day.”
Another stick foundation was number 14 – the Merit Beauty Foundation Stick, as she said it was good for covering imperfections but not for your entire face as it can appear “cakey.”
HMB Soft Focus foundation was named 13th position, simply because “for some reason it looks better on some days than it does on other days.”
But Phoebe said that on the days it does look good she can’t get enough, as she dubbed it “amazing.”

She then told her 24.6k social media followers that 12th place went to Dew Jelly Vegan Cushion Foundation simply down to how well it matched her skin tone.
But what came in at number 11? Phoebe answered: “The B Perfect Croma Cover – the luminous version.”
She continued: “If I still had the matte version, trust me, it would be in last place. But I threw it away.
“The luminous version, however, I absolutely love the finish of this.”
Phoebe then launched into the ones everyone wanted to know about – the top ten.
In tenth place, Phoebe put the Doctor Jart BB Cream. The reason? Phoebe said: “It gives a very dewy finish and it has SPF 50. The only reason it’s in tenth place is because the shade range of this is really bad.”
Number nine went to her former favourite foundation – Charlotte Tilbury’s Beautiful Skin.
Phoebe revealed: “This is a beautiful foundation. It applies really easily but, as you’ll see in a minute, there’s a dupe of this that I think is just as good.”
Haus Labs offering finished in eighth position. Phoebe maintained that it was “worth the hype” and is long lasting.
The only reason it fell down was because she didn’t think it was radically different or what she called a “miracle foundation.”

Bourgeois Healthy Mix was a surprise contender in seventh place, despite Phoebe acknowledging that she hears nobody raving about it.
Shouting about it, she said: “This is the foundation that I think is a dupe of the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin.
“Honestly, I’ve applied them both to either side of my face and they look exactly the same.”
Number six went to Maybelline’s Super Skin Tint, which she credited for remaining in place with a matte finish all day.
The final five started with Glossier’s Stretch Foundation – a product Phoebe said she’d recently become obsessed with.
She continued: “The texture of this is beautiful, it’s like 90 percent skincare and you can tell. It is amazing for dry skin.”
Number four was awarded to Haimish’s BB Merengous Ceramide Creme, which she said was a dupe of Doctor Jart BB Cream but with more shade offerings.
This absorbs into your skin as if it is your skin. And it definitely plumps – I don’t know what magic is in it
Finally, Phoebe revealed the top three, starting out with Trinny London’s BFF Serum Foundation.
She said: “If I can’t choose which foundation I want to wear, I’ll always go for this one as it's one hundred percent guaranteed to look stunning.”
She continued: “In second place is the Clarin Skin Illusion Foundation with SPF 15.
“This is the most skin-like finish you will ever get. This genuinely looks like I’m wearing absolutely nothing – it is totally feather lightweight.
“It’s not dewy, nor matte, it literally just looks like skin and it lasts for ages. I highly recommend this foundation.”
But the moment everyone had been waiting for was when Phoebe declared the big winner.
She concluded: “In number one place, it’s the L’Oreal Plumping Tinted Serum.
