IT'S so easy for white limescale to build up on your shower glass – but fortunately, there is a cheap hack to banish these unsightly marks.

According to one mum, all you need are just two common items, most likely already sitting in your kitchen.

The 60p cleaning hack was detailed by Nea from Helsinki, Finland, The Express reported.

The best part? Not only is it inexpensive and effective, but also doesn't call for any harsh chemicals, as what you will use is lemon and salt.

First, the savvy mum cut the fresh lemon in half and then proceeded to sprinkle a bit of salt over the cut lemon half.

Once done, she wiped the salt-infused lemon directly onto the screen and went around in a circular motion.

The Finnish mum then rinsed the screen with her showerhead before wiping it clean with a soft microfibre cloth.

Just like Nea, more and more people have been turning to lemon as a natural cleaner due to it highly effective properties.

The citric acid kills bacteria and removes mould and mildew, whist the oils found in seeds cut through creases and stains from surfaces.

Combined with lemon, salt acts as an abrasive and helps to further lift grime from the dirty shower screen.

Amongst those raving about lemon is Lynsey Crombie, also known as the Queen of Clean.

Sharing a clip on her Instagram, the cleaning mum said that not only does the acid in the lemon work well to remove stubborn marks, but it will leave your home smelling amazing.

"Add the refreshing invigorating smell of lemons to your home," she said. "I love love love cleaning with lemons."

Firstly, Lynsey showed how you can get your microwave spotless by slicing up the citrus fruit and putting them in a bowl of water.

Let the microwave run for five minutes on high before wiping over the area with a cloth and you'll see just how easy it is to clean.

Lynsey revealed: "The lemon release grease and grime and makes it easy to remove with a damp cloth."

Sprinkle some salt on the surface area before rubbing half a lemon over the top, then give it a rinse to clean off any residue.
