I’m a plus size fashionista and put five different supermarket’s leggings to the test – here’s the brand that I'd avoid | The Sun

A PLUS size fashion fan has put five different supermarket's leggings to the test.

Elly, who posts as @lux_island on TikTok, tried on and ranked the different options, but the worst option left everyone shocked.

The fashionista bought leggings from M&S, Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Asda – all in a size 20.

First up, the Sainsbury's TU brand, which cost £10 and are described as "luxury soft touch leggings."

Although the basic leggings fit well and were comfortable, there was one unavoidable problem… they were totally see through.

When Elly bent over her underwear was visible through the material, which isn't ideal if you want to wear them out and about.

She also tried on a more expensive pair from Sainsbury's for £15.

The slightly more premium pair were noticeably better quality but still were slightly see-though when she bent over.

Next she tried on an £8 pair from Morrison's Nutmeg brand.

The fit was pretty impressive on the savvy shopper and the high waist was definitely a winner, but they were also a bit see through.

She tried on a bargain £6 pair from F&F by Tesco next and loved how comfortable they were.

But yet again, they were slightly see through and Elly's white knickers were left on show.

The more premium pair from Tesco only set the fashion fan back £15 but were the first pair not to be see through in the slightest.

Meanwhile, the £16 pair from George at Asda looked good, but Elly was disappointed that they weren't high waisted like the others.

Finally, Elly tried on a pair Marks and Spencer's basic black leggings, which cost £16 for a pack of two.

But to the fashionista's surprise the M&S option was the worst fitting of the bunch despite being her normal size.

Not only that, but they were "super see through" as well.

That said, the more expensive tapered leggings from the supermarket were loads better and cost £22.50.

Although the leggings weren't designed to be as skin tight as the others, they looked amazing and most importantly weren't sheer.

So if you want some new leggings, it might be worst spending a few quid more to avoid showing your knickers.

Elly said her favourite basic bargain pair were Morrison's.

"Although see through… the comfort, stretch and desired thickness is 10/10.
