I'm a professional cleaner – how I get grotty grout white again, and why a 'spray and wipe' will never work | The Sun

A PROFESSIONAL cleaner has shared the tried and tested way she gets grotty grout white again.

Danyelle is often asked how she restores dirty grout to its former glory, and explained she's a big believer in leaving the cleaning product to soak in – as it does the hard work for her.

In a video on her Diamond D's Cleaning page on TikTok, Danyelle showed herself cleaning a client's bathroom.

"First thing's first, we have to take off all the toiletries and belongings and get our products out," she began.

"I'm giving it a generous spray and leaving it to soak."

She got the W5 Limescale Removing spray from Lidl, and said it's a bargain as she sprayed it liberally all over the walls and shower fittings.

"Once this has set you need to go in with an abrasive cleaner – my favourite one is The Pink Stuff paste," she continued.

"Get your grout brush, and get scrubbing.

"As you can see, I'm not actually having to scrub that hard because the product has done all the hard work for me.

"It's lifted the muck – it's softened it."

Once she's done the walls, she moves onto the shower fixtures and fittings.

"There is quite a lot of buildup on here but it is just literally flicking off with my brush when I rub over it," she said.

"There's no elbow grease really going into this because the product's already done the hard work.

"That's the mistake that a lot of people make.

"They think they can just give everything a spray and a wipe but the product needs time to work its magic."

She'd also sprayed the silicone edging around the bath with Astonish Mould and Mildew spray, and left it for 30 minutes, but added that there is also mould inside the silicone that won't come off.

"The tiles are very rough and dull which shows me there's a buildup of limescale and soap scum on there, so I'm just going in with my Scrub Daddy to give it all a good scrub," she said.

"Once everything's been rinsed off, we go in with our clean microfibre cloths, dry it all off, give it a buff and that's what gives it the shine."

Danyelle concluded her video by showing the astonishing difference between the before and after bathroom snaps.

"That's incredible," one person commented on the video.

"Massive improvement," another added.

As a third said: "I’m more shocked how anyone lets their bathroom get that dirty."
