IF you were to do a straw poll and ask people whether Marks & Spencer or Lidl would be more expensive, most people would go for the former.
But one savvy shopper decided to put both supermarkets to the test and compare their prices – and was pleasantly surprised by what she discovered.
Social media user The Budgeting Mum went into both of her local stores to check out the prices of kitchen essentials – from loaves of bread to packets of eggs.
The mum-of-two, whose TikTok profile is @budgetingmum, started by going to the fridge section of both shops to see how much their 4 pints of milk cost.
And she was shocked to see that they were priced at exactly the same – £1.55.
Next, she visited the bakery section of both M&S and Lidl to check out their selection.
