Beauty insiders including Charlotte Tilbury and skincare mogul Zoe Foster-Blake have shared their top beauty tips every woman should know to look and feel her best.

Tips include how to nail a flawless fake tan on your back, the item to carry with you for a 3pm pick-me-up and the simple three-step process to get the perfect ponytail at home.

Speaking to beauty brand Mecca, the Mecca Skincare Education Manager Lucy Shaw explained that her top tip is that you should have a separate face and body towel, particularly if you’re suffering with breakouts.

‘Our body towels get damp in the bathroom thanks to the moisture and heat and it’s the perfect place for bacteria to thrive, so it’s best not to be exposing your face to that,’ she told the publication.

Carry cream blush at all times

For those struggling with looking tired after lunch, Mecca’s Customer Education Lead Francesca Hyde recommends you have a cream blusher such as Charlotte Tilbury’s Beauty Light Wand with you at all times.

‘I have always kept a cream blush in my bag, it’s the perfect 3pm pick me up,’ she said.

‘Simply dab onto your cheeks, blend, then tap any remaining product onto your lips – no mirror required. You’ll feel refreshed in 10 seconds flat!’

Press your skincare in

While many of us rush to apply our skincare first thing in the morning and last thing at night, the co-founder of Glow Recipe Christine Chang recommends you gently press your products in to ‘help drive the product deeper into the skin’.

This works particularly well with serums and moisturisers, and should give dehydrated skin a quick boost.

You could also employ a bit of facial massage with your products to give your skin a real at-home treatment.

Elle Ferguson’s number one fake tan trick is to place your applicator on the top of a wooden spoon and secure it with an elastic band to do your back (pictured)

Use a wooden spoon to do your tan

Founder of the Elle Effect Elle Ferguson is known for her honey golden tan.

And she has one simple trick to make sure she nails it every time.

‘My number one trick is to place your applicator on the top of a wooden spoon and secure it with an elastic band. You then have an extra-long arm to apply your tan to your back!’ she said.

When it comes to tan, celebrity tanner James Read explained that you should also exfoliate and shave or wax at least 24 hours before applying any product.

Use a cotton bud to fix mistakes

When it comes to makeup, even the best of the best make mistakes.

So Charlotte Tilbury recommends you dip a cotton bud in a little of her world-renowned Magic Cream moisturiser when doing winged eyeliner in order to clean up any mistakes.

Zoe Foster-Blake said while people often think when the weather gets cooler they need to add in a thicker moisturiser, in fact it’s your serum that does the ‘heavy lifting’ (pictured)

Add in serum

Founder of Go-To Skincare Zoe Foster-Blake said while people often think when the weather gets cooler they need to add in a thicker moisturiser, in fact it’s your serum that does the ‘heavy lifting’.

‘Adding in a hyaluronic acid serum and using your regular moisturiser could actually have a lot more benefits than turning to something really thick that could clog your pores,’ Zoe said.

Go-To’s Much Plumper Skin, which includes peptides, provitamin B5 and four types of hyaluronic acid, is one great option.

When it comes to ponytails (Molly Mae pictured), Sam McKnight recommends hairspray on your brush and brushing away from your face into the ponytail

How to get the perfect ponytail

Celebrity hairdresser Sam McKnight said there are three things he recommends women do for the perfect ponytail.

But, most importantly, he said women should do their own ponytail because they can pull it really tight to get it in the right position.

‘Use a soft, small natural bristle brush to smooth over the surface and hairline so you don’t get those deep “tramlines”,’ he explained.

Then, spray hairspray onto the brush and brush away from your face into the ponytail.

‘Finally, give it a blast of spray all over so that it stays down,’ he said.
