I'm a woman in the mining industry – I drive monster trucks, people are calling me a 'legend' | The Sun

THE GREEN fields of Ireland have been replaced by the red dust of Western Australia for one woman, and fans are calling her a 'legend'.

If that wasn't enough change for one person, she's also swapped cars for monster trucks in the mining industry and is slaying it.

Colleen McArdle (@colleenmcardle00) describes herself on her platform as an Irish gal in Perth.

But that's not the full picture and she has radically changed her life.

Colleen left her 9 to 5 office job in property in Ireland and flew to the other side of the planet for a job in mining.

It might be a male-dominated industry, but this Irish lady is unbothered and loves her job driving impossibly big trucks.

The tires alone dwarf Colleen, who appears completely at home behind the wheel in her post.

There is no black dust here, so reminiscent of coal mining.

Instead, she works in Western Australia's iconic red dust, deep in gold mining country.

She has become part of the team and is loving her life in the Australian heat.
