Choosing the right furniture for your home is important as well, if your ceilings are short or the rooms are small try to use light-weight smaller pieces to compliment the space.

She adds that playing around with the furniture you already have in your living room can make a big impact when guests walk in.

Another effective way to add luxe to your home is to use slightly smaller cushion covers for your cushions.

This will make them look really plump and full instead of flat and lived in, Kristen recommends buying them two inches smaller than the cushion.

Lighting is a great way to add atmosphere to a home, and suggests using lamps to add ambience.

Using lamps instead of ceiling lights will make your home feel cosy and luxurious says Kristen.

Another option, for your kitchen, is making sure all your dining ware matches and she claims a mixed match set can look cheap and messy.

Keeping your bathroom chic can be as simple as having all white towels says Kristen.

Again, having a mixture of different colours can look messy and sticking to one colour instantly makes it look more expensive.

She added: "If you're looking to do one little thing in your home to make it look luxurious.

"Get those matching towels and it will feel like a hotel."

Kristen says scent plays a big part in making your home more luxe, lighting scented candles is a great way to enhance your environment as well as accessorising the room.

The simplest way to make your home feel more luxurious is to de-clutter.

Keeping things on your countertops looks messy, but if you don't have enough storage Kristen suggests decounting products into containers that match.
