THERE’S nothing worse than discovering your partner’s been playing away, sneaking around behind your back. 

And after experiencing that heartache himself, Dan decided to take matters into his own hand. 

Now known as TikTok’s official ‘cheat hunter’, the 24-year-old content creator slides into the DMs of those in need of a test. 

But there's one clear sign that all of the men he’s helped have spotted before discovering their partner’s been playing away. 

“The main thing I get people saying is their girlfriend’s not been showing as much interest over the last few weeks. 

“They’re a little bit more secretive with their phone.

“It’s the changing of their personality, where they were originally so keen but now they’re showing less interest.” 

Now, speaking exclusively to Fabulous, Dan explains how his role as a ‘cheat hunter’ really works – and the strangest exchanges he’s had on the job.

THE FIRST DATE

Dan, who started offering his services back in August 2021, has had both men and women reach out to ask for his help.

Some are singles in their 20s, while others are married and closer to 40. 

His most popular test, episode four, has now had more than 5.5 million views, causing hundreds to reach out for his help. 

The full-time carpenter from Essex said: “It started off in the US. I saw some creators coming up on my For You page, and then some girls brought it over to the UK. 

“But I noticed there were no guys defending the guys, catching girls out. 

“So I put a message out on Instagram to see if anyone wanted their partner tested. A couple of people got back to me and I just went from there. 

“Now, when I post a video, I’d say I get at least 30 [requests] a day, and that goes on for a good five days.”

But how does he choose which people to help? 

“I just scroll and select one at random. Obviously, I can’t get through to them all. 

It’s so hard telling the guy when they have agreed to meet up – but others are over the moon because they just want an excuse to leave their partners.

“I’m on episode 17 now so imagine the number of messages I do get. But I try my best.”

The ‘test’ itself involves Dan messaging the partner of his client on Instagram and striking up a flirty conversation. 

He explained: “So I’ll see someone and see their message. Then I’ll ask him to send me his partner’s profile. 

“I’ll say to the guy, ‘leave it with me’ and I’ll just slide in DMs in some creative way. 

“I try to be funny – make someone laugh and then you’ve got your foot in the door.

“[We chat] until they agree to meet me. That’s always my cut-off as that’s not right. 

“That's when I slow down the conversation, get the screenshots and send it to the guy. 

“Some people would say, ‘oh as soon as she says she hasn’t got a boyfriend, cut it off’. 

“But there’s always room for the girl to work her way out of it.” 

IT’S NOT CHEATING THOUGH 

“The way I see it, the girl hasn’t actually cheated because it was just a test. 

“It’s to see if she would because, in my eyes, I would be like, ‘okay, that’s what she would do in real life on a night out or if some other guy had messaged her’. 

People need to be a little more switched on.

“It’s definitely a good thing for the guy because you wouldn’t want her actually meeting up with someone.”

Although Dan did once, thanks to his test, uncover that one guy’s partner was actually playing away. 

He said: “The worst test I have done was a guy messaged me to test a girl he was seeing. 

“She actually went on to fail the test and agreed to meet me. 

“Then I had a message from another guy saying that he didn’t ask me to test his girlfriend. 

“Turns out she has been seeing both of these guys at the same time – and then also wanted to meet up with me. 

“That one was the most rewarding knowing I’d stopped her from cheating on two guys, as for all I know, she could keep doing over and over again.”

Although his strangest discovery – some men have used his tests as an excuse to end their relationship. 

He said: ”It’s so hard telling the guy when they have agreed to meet up – but others are over the moon because they just want an excuse to leave their partners. 

“I had one guy message me, saying, ‘I’m not really keen on this girl but I feel too bad to leave her. I need an excuse to go’. So he sent me her page. 

“I tapped to message her and turned out she’d already slid into my DMs and reacted with love-heart faces to one of my stories, a picture of me. 

“So I didn’t even send a message. I just screenshot that and he said, ‘yes, cheers mate, that will do’. 

Some might wonder if catching people out would make Dan feel wary when trying to date himself – but the content creator reveals it’s had the opposite effect. 

“It’s a benefit as when I speak to people, I look out for more red flags. I can see them more.

“And I still have hope that there are people that are loyal out there.  

“It hasn’t made me warier – I’m just a little bit more screwed on.
