I’m ‘slim thick’ – I wore a work dress ‘barely legal for my body type in corporate America,’ but it breaks no rules | The Sun

AN OFFICE worker is following her employer's handbook to the letter, but still wearing "barely legal" dresses to work.

She said it's her body type, not the clothes themselves, that are inappropriate, and the reason her bosses can't nitpick.

TikTok user Alexa (@jay.alexaa) credits her field for allowing her to dress the way she does.

Alexa works in plastic surgery, which she says allows for a more lenient dress code than other industries.

In one video, she demonstrated what she meant with a slow-motion view of her "slim thick" body type.

She modeled a brown dress with a crew neck and cap sleeves, which reached all the way down to mid-calf.

The bodycon dress showed off her curves, but, as Alexa pointed out, it also covered her skin.

She labeled the dress "barely legal with my body type for corporate America."

Still, Alexa said, she was "wearing it anyways because it's technically appropriate."

"It's not my fault I look like this," she added in the caption.

Alexa's wardrobe is primarily comprised of similar silhouettes, but she hasn't been reprimanded at work.

Other women with a similar body shape chimed in, recalling their own office experiences in the comment section.

"This dress is what I got sent to HR for," one woman claimed.

Another said, "I get so nervous wearing anything because people think everything I wear is inappropriate."

But it's not the dresses, she said – she insisted, "It’s my genetics."

"Every time I wear a pencil skirt and a collared shirt I simply look like an explicit website advertisement," another agreed.

"Oh, I know those Karens in the office are torn up about this," wrote one of Alexa's gleeful fans.

Some people argued that the dress was inappropriate because it was a body-hugging jersey fabric.

"I think it’s about the materials," one person said. "If it wasn’t stretchy, but straight lines, it would’ve looked professional."

Others said the dress was totally fine since it hit below the knees.

Several said that their offices now stipulated "no tight clothes" in the dress code thanks to the popularity of bodycon dresses.

One savvy woman shared her go-to response for office questions.

"I say, 'Is it inappropriate or are you just sexualizing me in the workplace?'" she said.

And Alexa's fans were, for the most part, totally in favor of her wardrobe.
