Inside Pippa Middleton’s 30-bed £15m Berkshire mansion that’s ‘more impressive’ than sister Kate’s & has childhood link | The Sun

IT'S hard to compete with your sibling when they're married to royalty.

But Pippa Middleton's stunning new country pad is said to be "far more impressive" than sister Kate's modest Windsor home.

The mum-of-three, 39, and her investment banker husband James Matthews, 47, are the proud owners of a lavish £15million Georgian stately home in Berkshire, a 20-minute drive from her parents.

It is understood the new home has a whopping 30 bedrooms and 150 acres of grounds which lead down to a river, complete with a walled garden and greenhouses, reports Daily Mail's Eden Confidential.

There's plenty of space for their recently expanded family – the couple are parents to Arthur, four; Grace, one; and four-month-old Rose.

At the time of the sale in summer this year, a friend of Pippa told the Daily Mail she and her family are "thrilled".

"It’s a very exciting time in their lives. They are looking forward to living closer to her parents," they said.

The home, bought in an off-market sale, is not far from where Pippa, Kate, and their brother James grew up in Chapel Row village.

It was completely renovated and modernised by the previous owners, according to reports.

The whole Middleton family will be now be neighbours as Prince William, 40, and Kate have moved their primary residence to Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Estate.

James Middleton and his wife Alizee live on a £1.25million farm in Berkshire, and her parents currently live in lavish Bucklebury Manor.

It is not known if James and Pippa have sold their West London home and moved full-time to the countryside pad – or if they're keeping both.

The couple, who wed in May 2017, spent £17million on their London home which spans five floors.

Despite keeping their private life closely guarded, we know the mansion had six bedrooms, a home gym, an underground cinema, lift and room for staff.

They renovated the home after buying it to add separate female and male dressing rooms off the master bedroom as well as a nursery and air conditioning throughout.

Pippa rarely shared images from the house, though one rare glimpse inside showed her posing by a Christmas tree.

72-acre estate

Pippa and James' new Berkshire home is a short drive from Bucklebury Farm Park, which James – who runs Mayfair investment firm Eden Rock – bought in March last year with his partner James Murray.

The sprawling 72 acre piece of land in the Pang Valley is believed to have set them back £1.5million.

The plan is to splash £800,000 on transforming the rundown petting zoo – reportedly Prince George's favourite – and deer safari park into an indoor play barn for children.

They also reportedly want to expand an existing barn to include a cafe and farm shop with outdoor seating.

Pippa is often spotted helping out at the farm in a wax jacket and wellies.

Childhood home

It's no surprise that the couple has a taste for luxury houses, as Pippa's parents, Carole, 62, and Michael, 67, now reside in the gorgeous £5million Bucklebury Manor.

It boasts seven bedrooms, five reception rooms – including a drawing room and library – and 18 acres of land complete with a tennis court and outdoor swimming pool around the grade-II listed Georgian property.

Snaps shared from inside the house show traditional log fireplaces, a kitchen with a large wooden dining table, and a conservatory with enormous floor-to-ceiling windows.

The manor house is where the young couple chose to have their wedding reception in 2017.

However, the sprawling property wasn't where Pippa and her siblings grew up.

Instead, their childhood was spent in the slightly more modest Oak Acre – which lacked the privacy of the new home.

The £1.5million home sits on one-and-a-half acres of land but was easily looked upon by members of the public.

It contained five-bedrooms but all other details of the property have been kept private thanks to the new owner signing a non-disclosure agreement.
