Interior designer reveals home mistakes he’d ‘jail’ people for – and run away now if you’ve got faux marble counters | The Sun

AN INTERIOR designer has revealed the top home decor mistakes people tend to make.

Taking to his social media page, Phoenix Grey shared a clip of himself dressed in a black T-shirt while holding a gavel in one hand.

“Court is in session and this is the next round of interior design mistakes that I will send you to jail for,” he said before putting the gavel down.

Sharing a series of photos to demonstrate his first point, he said he can’t stand full scale marble bathrooms.

He said: “You do not need to scale and cover every surface in the bathroom to have as marble.

“Honestly, this is going to be a life offence. While you’re in jail I’m going to rob you of those slabs.”

Continuing in the same theme, he went on to the second interior mistake most people make as he said: “Marble wallpaper countertops that heaven epoxied”.

He explained that if you’re using wallpaper or doing it yourself with paint, this is a “criminal offence” he joked before adding that you will go to interior design ‘jail’.

The third issue he has in homes is what he called ‘distressed cabinets’, where cupboards purposefully look a little worn down.

TikTok user @mrphoenixgrey said: “Honestly, this is a hit or miss. No one should be spending premium prices on new cabinets for them to look old.”

He then hit out at people who like sinks without basins as he argued: “I know you saw that Kim Kardashian home tour”.

“This is the worst possible kind of sink you can have in your space,” he said.

And if you have an open staircase with no handrail to be seen and no support underneath, this is also an “offence”.

“There is no way you want one of these without the possible risk of killing yourself and every single person that comes on them,” he said as the video came to an end.

In the caption, he added: “I have no idea why I wasn’t using the law and order theme music for the background for this before”.

People flocked to the comments as one person wrote: “Leave me and my marble countertop stickers alone I can’t afford actual marble countertops,” followed by two crying with laughter emojis.

Another shared: “the no handle staircase be givin me anxiety like aint no way im gonna walk on those shiz”.

A third posted: “I was so ready to fight you, but you weren't wrong”.

While a fourth added: “Sir you may be enjoying this new role as a judge just a bit too much,” alongside a crying with laughter emoji.
