Meghan & Harry targeted charm offensive on Queen before her death | The Sun

THE Duke and Duchess of Sussex allegedly planned to target The Queen with a charm offensive before she died.

The California-based duo aimed to make amends with the rest of Royal Family through the rift-healing mission due to start next year.

But Harry and Meghan's plans went up in smoke when Her Majesty tragically died last month.

A Royal insider told The Sun: “Next year 2023 was to be their reconciliation year."

Another added: “They have always been careful to not criticise the monarch. They have always tried to be respectful to the Queen.

“But the Queen has now died and Charles and Camilla are the King and Queen.

“Clearly, this reconciliation attempt would never work if they have been critical of the new monarch, or both.”

It is unclear what the plans for reconciliation would have involved.

But the pair have recently cut ties with aggressive Hollywood PR outfit Sunshine Sachs – suggesting a clear change of tack.

The charm offensive would have followed the release of Harry's memoirs – due out next month.

And Harry added he was “excited for people to read a first-hand account of my life".

The memoir is expected to unleash another volley of attacks and allegations on the Royal Family.

But The Sun on Sunday reported Prince Harry is now "desperately making last-minute changes" to the £17m "explosive" memoir following his grandmother's death.

Their carefully laid plans would have also begun in the wake of the couple's new Netflix series – thought to come out in December.
