MEGHAN Markle is celebrating her 42nd birthday today – but every year, she makes the same wish every year and requests the same gift.

The duchess, whose star sign is Leo, is likely to be inundated with presents from husband Prince Harry and their young children Archie, four, and Lilibet, two.

But her repeated birthday wish is actually inspired by her mum Doria Ragland who regards birthdays as “your own personal new year”.

Meghan revealed in 2016 on her now-defunct lifestyle blog, The Tig, that every year she wishes for “more inspiration”.

She also asks for people to be "kinder to themselves" and "stop gossiping" as a gift to her.

She penned in the blog post that every year on her birthday, she wishes for "more surprises, more adventure, more opportunities to grow, more days filled with giggles and cheeky jokes, more delicious meals, and more inspiration.”

She poignantly added at the end of the blog post seven years ago: “Always more inspiration."

On her 33rd birthday, Meghan revealed the only gift she wants from people is for them to be kinder to themselves – and to “stop gossiping”.

“I want you to be kind to yourself,” she wrote to her readers. “I want you to challenge yourself. 

“I want you to stop gossiping, to try a food that scares you, to buy a coffee for someone just because, to tell someone you love them… and then to tell yourself right back.

“I want you to find your happiness. I did. And it’s never felt so good."

Meghan ran her blog, which was named after her favourite red wine, for three years while appearing on drama series Suits. 

It was shut down in April 2017 after her relationship with Harry became public knowledge. 

If you’re a fan of Duke and Duchess of Sussex, chances are you’ve seen their latest public appearance following rumours that they’re taking time apart.

A body language expert weighed in that they made sure the appearance was as far away from the recent drama as possible.

The pair looked cosy sitting side-by-side as they gushed over Archie and Lilibet in a video to support the Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund.

Body language expert Judi James believes the video, where the couple call Youth Power Fund recipients to congratulate them, only offers subtle hints from the couple to prove the rumours aren’t true.

“If there are deliberate signals from Harry and Meghan in this clip in response to rumours of time apart or diverse career choices they are more ‘tossed salad’ than coherent and comprehensive,” she told Fabulous.
