Princess Kate and Duchess Meghan Markle stepped out on February 28, 2018, as they joined their husbands to speak at The Royal Foundation Forum. The royals both stunned in blue dresses, however their styles – and price tags – were exceptionally different.

The Royal Foundation Forum of 2018 was a big occasion for the royals, as it was the first time the “Fab Four” were debuted.

Kate, who was heavily pregnant with Prince Louis at the time, donned the Royal Blue Tailored Maternity Dress from Seraphine.

Seraphine is a maternity brand boasting the slogan “with mums for the journey”.

The dress is currently retailed at an affordable £109, showing that Kate can stun in relatable items as well as extravagant designer pieces.

Seraphine’s official website reads: “Seraphine’s Royal Blue Tailored Maternity Dress is designed to accentuate the empire waist with stylish gold button detailing under the bust.

“This dress is a favourite of Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, who wore it several times throughout her third pregnancy.

“Cut for an elegant A-line shape and draping beautifully to the knee, this dress will take you from the office to a stylish cocktail party.

“Made in premium stretch woven fabric, it will adapt to your growing curves throughout your pregnancy.”

The then-Duchess looked radiant in the classic dress, pairing it with simple black pumps.

She styled her hair in loose, bouncy curls and was relatively fresh-faced aside for some blush and eyeliner.

Meghan Markle also opted for a blue dress, but it was a far more expensive choice.

The Duchess of Sussex turned heads in a navy, mid-length number by Jason Wu.

This was the Crepe Back Satin Belted Wrap Dress and retailed at $1,795 (around £1,591), as reported by Meghan’s Fashion.

This makes Meghan’s chosen blue dress almost 15 times more expensive than Kate’s.

The trench-style dress was sleeves but had prominent shoulder pads and asymmetrical lapels.

It was fastened by a chunky satin belt with silver buckle, and the strap dangled to below the bottom of the skirt.

She paired this chic piece with the towering Aquazzura Casablanca Pumps in black featuring a thick ankle strap.

Meghan accessorised with a classic pair of gold hoop earrings by Isabel Marant.

As for hairstyle, she opted for loose waves and a middle parting, not too dissimilar to Kate’s look.

She went for a slightly more glam makeup look, however, with smokey eyes, shimmery lipstick and slightly rouged cheeks.
