Mum slammed after innocently sharing a picture of the lunches she'd made her kids – with everyone saying the same thing | The Sun

SHE certainly hadn't expected backlash when she innocently shared a picture of the packed lunches she'd made her two kids.

So one mum was left stunned when she was inundated with comments from people all saying the same thing – namely that she hadn't given her children enough food for their midday meal.

Rachel took to Facebook to post a snap of the lunches, writing: "This is lunch for a one and three-year-old today.

"Sharp Cheddar cheese, crackers, and seaweed."

While the box for the younger child contained four small crackers, slices of cheese and seaweed, the one for the older child had the same but with nine crackers.

But in the comments section, the majority of people insisted the food wasn't enough to fill up growing kids at lunchtime.

"That's a mistake. Is this filling enough for them?" one wrote.

"My kids would devour this and then ask for something else," another commented.

While a third added: "This is lunch? Or a snack?

"This wouldn't fill up either of my kids at this age. But at least it's healthy."

"My son is obsessed with seaweed. He could eat a 12 pack of them if you don't watch him.

"Same with whole apples."

As another added: "This is exactly what my three-year-old would eat."

If you're looking to make the perfect packed lunch for your kids, then Australian dietician Susie Burrell has shared her top tips for exactly what it should contain.

In her "foolproof" approach, Susie suggested dividing the lunchbox into four core sections: a wholegrain sandwich or wrap for energy, a protein-based snack for key nutrients and fullness, fruit and vegetables for fibre and vitamins and a snack food that has some nutritional benefit.
