EVEN if you consider yourself to be the most chilled-out person in the world, we're sure nothing makes your blood boil quite like battling for a parking space.

But while most driver's meltdowns are restricted to the supermarket car park, spare a thought for this poor bloke – who has been having an awkward stand-off with his neighbour for seven YEARS.

Sharing his dilemma on Reddit, the man explained how him and his housemate have two cars between them – while their neighbour over the road owns seven.

He wrote: "Our house has the worst parking. We only have a one car driveway, the other cars on the street have two car driveways, and the neighbour has a three car drive way."

However, the two households both have parking available on the fence line outside their two properties too.

They continued: "My housemate will usually get the driveway and I park at the fence.

"Because our neighbour has so many vehicles they constantly park their vehicles at our fence line.

"They often park, taking up the whole fence line, and I will often not have a spot to park. Our neighbours also park right behind our driveway, and in the middle of the street, blocking whoever is in the driveway and even at the fence in."

Several times over the years, the pair have asked their neighbour to leave them at least one space – and needless to say, their request went down like a lead balloon.

They added: "When we ask, the neighbour gets all defensive and yells that she can park wherever she wants to and there's nothing we will do about it."

As a last-ditch attempt to secure some parking, the roommates even put up signs on their fence asking neighbours not to park there.

"We have also seen them park at our fence while leaving their driveway empty," the man added.

What's more, both the roommates work unsociable hours – which is making their parking set-up even more complicated and stressful.

He wrote: "I work nights sometimes. I get home at 10 (at the earliest). Sometimes I won't get home until 1 or 2 in the morning.

"I don't want to park two blocks away and walk to my house. I don't want to park down the street. I can't park across the street as that neighbour will post notes telling us she will tow the vehicle."

After a recent night shift, the man had no choice but to park behind three of their neighbour's vehicles as their roommate was getting up at 5am the next morning.

Although she wanted them park up, the woman across the road waited half an hour and then went out to honk her horn – which woke everyone up on the street.

He explained: "They then started texting me telling me if I didn't move my car immediately they would call the cops on me and get my car towed.

"They threatened to call the cops and have one of our cars towed for an 'expired' tag […]

"I am over it and running out of patience. We have pictures of them blocking our cars into our driveway.

"We have them parking in front of a city 'no parking' sign. We have pictures of them taking up all our spots and having an empty driveway.

"We even got a ticket once because they parked an 'abandoned vehicle' in front of our house and we got the ticket because it was on our 'property'."

Unsurprisingly, members of the forum were horrified by the neighbours' behaviour and urged the bloke to call the police himself to sort it out.

One user commented: "Tow their vehicle every time they block your drive. Don’t warn them, just call the cops."

"At least your neighbours have shown you how to deal with them the next time they block you in," another added. "Horn, text, call the tow truck."

"If OP owns ten feet in front of the fence line, then it is private property and you can have them towed," a third said.
