A WOMAN has been left fuming with her "intrusive" neighbours after they got her estate agent to check on her whereabouts when she went on holiday for five days.

She took to Mumsnet to explain the situation, revealing that she hadn't had much to do with her next door neighbours since moving in to her house six months ago.

"My neighbours next door are two men," she wrote.

"These are my only neighbours. We have never spoken to each other.

"I don't really like them as they blast loud music a lot."

However, when she went on holiday to Spain, she found herself bombarded with calls and messages from her estate agent – who she hadn't spoken to since buying the house.

"Last night, I got two missed calls from the estate agent who sold me the house," she continued.

"He called me twice on What's App at 10 pm. Then he sent me a message saying 'call me'.

"I have never spoken to this estate agent since he sold me the house, so I was worried that something was wrong."

When she called the estate agent back, he told her that "your neighbours are very very worried about you.

WHAT A FIND

"They haven't seen you in a few days, and the newspapers are building up outside your door."

She later discovered that her neighbours were friends with the estate agent, and had asked him to call her because they didn't have her number.

"I have only been away for five days," she wrote.

"It's the summer, everybody is going away on holiday.

"I just felt really stressed about it yesterday. I wanted privacy in a house. And to be able to come and go when I want.

"To me, it is nosy, intrusive and controlling."

Comments on the post were largely divided, with some agreeing with the woman that the neighbours' behaviour was uncalled for.

But the majority of people insisted that the men's concern probably came from a good place.

"They may be a bit nosy but at least they have your welfare at heart," one wrote.
