My simple window trick keeps me and the kids warm without a watt of electricity | The Sun

A SAVVY woman who lives in a van has revealed her clever hack to keep it warm during the winter.

Rebekah is a single mum of two and often uses her social media account to share insights on how she lives in a home on wheels.

With summer firmly over and the winter chill seeping into every home, the brunette beauty decided to tackle the topic of how she keeps warm.

“I’m sitting where my head’s not touching because I’m going to put some double reflective, insulative whatever on my daughter’s window so that their loft is a little bit warmer,” she told viewers.

She explained that her son already has the insulation foil installed.

“Instead of keeping the heat out and air conditioning in, I’m actually going to keep the heat in at night,” she shared.

“Because it is a loft, there are no heating vents but the heat does rise.”

She went on to admit that she finds it a “little chilly” in the mornings  and as the kids only use their beds to sleep in, there’s no harm in covering the windows.

Getting to work, she brought out a roll of insulation foil, which can be bought from £16 on Temu.

She then took out hanging strips, which cost as little as £2, which she placed on every side of the foil.

TikTok user @the_realrebekah explained that she’d gone down other avenues to keep the heat for her children, but she had reservations about them.

“I just don’t feel like any of them are safe,” she said. “I did heated blankets, but I didn’t like that there was a cord and it was just super messy and chaotic.

“I’ve done a space heater, which was fine because it was temperature controlled.

“But my son started having a phobia of it, so I had to get rid of it.”

She went on to explain that the insulation foil has been the best solution to keeping the heat in.

After measuring out how much she needed, she removed the hanging strips and stuck them on.

In the caption, she added: “How to stay warm in a RV during fall and winter”.

People were quick to comment as one person wrote: “Hot water bottles. It’s a life saver,” to which she replied: “That’s a good idea I’ve been eyeing a cute Sherpa one on Amazon”.
