My twins have different birthdays – the nurse tried to stop it happening but I like it, it’s different | The Sun

A MUM has shared how her children have completely different birthdays despite being twins.

However, Casey says that she wouldn’t have it any other way as it makes their situation unique. 

Social media user Casey, aka @caseywsouthern, took to the TikTok to tell her family’s story. 

Alongside a video of herself at home, Casey told her 118k followers that she was in labour with her twins when a very unlikely event happened.

After several hours in the hospital, she was just about to welcome her first twin. 

But, as she was pushing, her nurse told her that the time was just about to change to midnight – and that it would have big consequences for the twins’ future if she continued to push..

She recalled the situation as it unfolded, as she said: “Nurse: ‘Oh it’s right at 12am.

“Doctor: ‘Do you want to stop pushing so your twins don’t have separate birthdays?…’ 

However, Casey explained that despite the medical staff’s advice, she decided to keep pushing regardless and she met her first little bundle of joy at 11.57pm. 

As she continued to recount the memory, Casey revealed: “Me: ‘Absolutely not. Get them out!”

She later clarified: “I had one at 11.57pm so if I would have stopped pushing, they both would have been the same day.

“The first baby was just about to come out. 

“I would have stopped pushing and waited the 3 minutes, so it could have been the same day.”

But the mum said she wouldn’t change the outcome, as she wrote in the caption: “We like to be unique around here.”

She later added that it’s great as both of her kids get to have their own day to celebrate, as she wrote: “I love it so much.”

After she posted the video, countless of her social media followers rushed to comment on the situation.

One person said: “How fun is that for them, though!”

While a second person revealed they were in the same situation, as they wrote: “I am a twin and we have different birthdays and I love it!!!”

Meanwhile, another person explained how they knew a pair who had been born in completely different years.

They typed: “A set of twins I knew were born December 31st 1994 and January 1st 1995. Crazy!”
