My vegan neighbour is refusing to get rid of her child’s head lice because she says it’s cruel on the NITS | The Sun

HEAD LICE are every parent's worst nightmare, with mums scrambling to get rid of them immediately.

Well, almost all mums.

One woman revealed that her vegan neighbour is refusing to remove the nits from her child’s hair because it would be cruel on the lice.

The Australian mum had initially written in to the advice column on Ninemsn, with her letter recently resurfacing on Reddit.

In her letter she reveals that her seven-year-old was good friends with the daughter of the vegan mum and on a recent playdate she had noticed that the child had been ‘crawling’ with lice.

However, when she approached the mum about the issue she was surprised to find that she was already aware of the situation.

The troubled mum wrote, “To my surprise, this woman said that not only did she know about her daughter’s condition but refused to do anything about it.

“Vegans don’t kill any living things, is the reason.

“My neighbour told me she was in the practice of combing the lice and nits into the garden where they had a chance of survival.”

Redditors were quick to jump in and offer their own opinion, with most agreeing that the approach was ‘ridiculous.’
