Only Jennifer Lopez Could Pull Off the Divisive Flared-Leggings Trend
J Lo is going disco with her latest workout look. The newlywed arrived at her Los Angeles dance studio wearing a pair of dramatic flared leggings that are reminiscent of popular styles from the 1970s. Lopez has been known to refer to this decade for style inspiration, and having grown up in the dance world, she leans toward fashionable outfits that are still functional enough for rehearsals.
This time around, Lopez paired her black-and-white patterned spandex flared pants from Niyama Sol with a boxy-cut black long-sleeved crop top from the same brand. She chose her trusty Nike sneakers for footwear and kept her hair in a simple topknot.
Much like her previous workout ‘fit with textured leggings, the “Marry Me” actress opted for a black athleisure ensemble with an interesting pattern or print. Her last pair of croc-embossed leggings were also designed by Niyama Sol.
The “Love of My Life” singer is, of course, coming out of a whirlwind weekend, having tied the knot with now-husband Ben Affleck. For the special day, she wore two wedding dresses: a long-sleeve gown with a sweetheart neckline from Zuhair Murad and a sleeveless wedding dress from her movie “Jersey Girl,” which was designed by Alexander McQueen. In her announcement post on Instagram, she showed off a classic wedding band — not that anyone would forget her striking green engagement ring — as well as her very bridal almond-shape manicure.
Lopez continues to be an undisputed style icon, thanks in part to her bold choices (like that history-making Versace gown) and her penchant for all things high fashion (remember her Valentino moment at the 2003 Oscars?). She’s never been afraid to experiment and plays to a variety of aesthetics that always keep fans guessing. Sporty casual and ’70s inspired, however, are among her favorite styles to embrace in her day-to-day. Keep scrolling for more pictures of her gym-ready look, and get inspired for your next workout session.
