HAVE you ever wondered what all the symbols on the back of your beauty products mean?
Well, one woman has revealed what one of the symbols mean and you better pay attention to it – especially when it comes to your mascara.
Professional makeup artist, Delaney Kalea, took to TikTok to explain what the pot symbol meant.
The symbol will appear on beauty products and shows an open pot which has a number and letter in the middle.
She said: "Any makeup you buy your going to see something like this or something similar.
"So this says 12 months, so this means this product is going to expire 12 months from when I open it."

The pots will usually have figure such as 6, 12 or 24 and a letter, usually M, to represent how many months it can be open before it expires.
But you really need to pay attention to it when it comes to your mascara.
Delaney said: "It is cold, it is dark and it is damp in this tube – and it is a breeding ground for bacteria," she explains.
While most tubes say the product can last for six months after being opened, Delaney recommends chucking it out after three.

She added: "Three months top unless you want an eye infection, and I don't think you do."
The same goes for liquid eyeliner says the makeup artist.
If you want your eyeshadow palettes to last longer than the stated 12 months, Delaney suggest taking a spray bottle of 99% alcohol and spray your palette every two to three months.
And TikToker, Kodak Jones also revealed that the symbol meant how long the shelf life was.
She first showed her hair care products and then showed a lip gloss which had a shelf life of six months.
"Makeup is way too expensive to be doing this but yeah, if you don't know now you know."
Other TikTokers have also revealed the secret meaning behind the symbol and viewers were left stunned.
Many had no idea what the symbol meant while others couldn't bare to throw away their makeup.
One wrote: "Casually hides all my high end makeup that I can’t bare to throw away."
Another user commented: "Shelf life…PLEEEAAASE, I have shampoo so old, it turned into a bar of soap inside the bottle. I just add some water and keep it moving."
"I seen this before but didn’t have a clue! Now I know. Thanks sis," penned a third.

Meanwhile, a fourth added: "I had no idea makeup had an expiration date like for real I guess you learn something new every day!"
