On Little Prince Day, the reigning monarch of the Netherlands addresses parliament with a speech setting out the main features of government policy for the coming parliamentary session.

Princess Laurentien, 56, and the sister-in-law of Queen Maxima, turned heads in a floor-length gown.

This was a candyfloss pink number from Hardies, a women’s clothing store in The Hague.

On its official Instagram account, Hardies is described as “exclusive ladies fashion”.

The royal opted for the stunning Crepe Cady Wrap Dress, which she has not been spotted in before.

The dress was floor-length and had long sleeves and a plunging neckline.

The Princess’ fabulous figure was accentuated by a built-in belt.

She wore a pair of silver platform heels, complete with a bow on each foot.

As for jewellery, Laurentien went for a mesmerising necklace in the same shade as her dress.

The statement piece appeared to be several layers of small pink discs attached to each other randomly.

She wore a huge pink flower in her hair, again in the same shade, which perfectly complemented her dress and jewellery.

The royal also wore her orange sash from Order of the House of Orange used to reward people for their services to the Royal House.

The UK Royal Family are reportedly encouraged to wear pale nail polish.

Daena Borrowman, marketing manager at jewellerybox, previously told Express.co.uk: “The Queen has long favoured nude shades of nail paint over bright or dark nail paint. A firm favourite of the Queen’s is Essie’s ‘Ballet Slippers.'”

Kate Middleton typically adheres to this, frequently opting for nudes and light pinks, she has on occasion been spotted wearing red polish on her toes.

Princess Laurentien went all out with matching red nails and toenails, adding a pop of vibrant colour to her look.

Royal fans took to Instagram to comment on the royal’s latest look.

@luxmeagainpreloved stated: “So very pretty on Princess Laurentien. She loves fashion and this really works for her. The fascinator and jewellery are so beautiful too.”

@nicolemarie125 added: “Probably one of the nicest things I’ve ever seen her wear.”

@_eleonor_b commented: “What elegance!!! Beautiful dress!”
