EVERYONE looks forward to the day they collect the keys for their new home and gets to call it theirs.
But for one couple, it was anything but that, as they discovered the previous tenants had left furniture and rubbish throughout their property.
Sharing the video with her 985 followers, Bec Bamber, known online as @becbamber, couldn’t believe the state her first property had been left in.
Taking to TikTok, she said: “Bought our first home together and this is what we walked into when we got the keys.
“Nothing in this house is ours – the estate agents told us it was completely empty.
“It wasn’t like this at all when we looked around. Cluttered yes, but nowhere near as much stuff as there was the day we got the keys!”

The video sees Bec filming the kitchen, living room, and outdoor space, littered with broken furniture, rubbish, and discarded belongings.
In the comments, the new homeowner added: “We asked and signed for the house to be emptied with both the estate agent and the solicitor agreeing.”
They also claimed that the previous owners had returned after the keys had been exchanged and let themselves in, which followers pointed out was trespassing.
Fans flocked to the comments, with some explaining that they’d been in a similar position: “That was literally what happened to us, we sued them for clearance costs and storage while we gave them notice to collect.”

And one spun it into a positive, saying: “I bought a house like that! The seller gave me 3 grand off the price! Used my trailer to shift it all to the tip. Money saved. Good luck!”

On the Citizens Advice website, it states: “The seller is under obligation to empty the house of all their furniture and belongings unless you agree otherwise with them.
“If the seller has left some belongings in the house, you should ask the seller to remove them.
