MOST people think they're getting a bargain when heading to designer outlet stores.
But luxury buying experts have revealed it isn't quite as it seems.
Taking to their TikTok account Luxe Collective, the designer experts revealed you weren't always getting a good deal for your money.
Co-founder, Ben Gallagher said: "Do you know the harsh truth about luxury outlet stores that they don't want you to know.
"So brands like Prada, Gucci and Burberry, they all produce outlet lines for really cheap that they stock in these stores."
He went on to explain that outlets such as Bicester Village sell products made from 'inferior materials' and often have more simple designs.
While the item may have the brand on it, it can be produced at a lower quality than the rest of the brands items.
Ben added: "Brands make huge amounts of money from these outlet stores so they make products specifically for them."
The designer expert also revealed shopping advice on how to spot if an item was made for the outlet or just out of season.
He compared two Prada bags, one from the outlet store and one from the original line.

The one from the actual store has an extra pouch attached to the bag and uses Saffiano leather for the straps and has a square-shaped buckle.
However, the one produced for the outlet store has smooth leather straps and rounded buckles.
Ben added that you should always ask the sales associates if you are unsure.
"If you're in store and just don't know the difference just ask one of the sales associates 'is it from an outlet line or is it form an actual store?' Because they cannot lie to you," he revealed.
The video has since gone viral with over four million views and over 200k likes.
People quickly too k to the comments section to share their thoughts.
