SNAKES are kings of camouflage that are revered in the wild for their dissimulation skills, so can you spot the snake in this viral video?

If you are able to spot the sly snake hidden in the wild, then you may have the eyes of a hawk.

A Reddit page has shared the photo of a patch of dry land, where a sneaky snake is hiding.

At first glance, you may think that there is no reptile hiding in plain sight in the shot, but take a closer look.

If you can't spot the camouflaged snake, we can reveal it is curled up in the middle of the dry grass.

A Reddit user, blonde-bandit wrote: "I’m not even generally afraid of snakes but that level of camouflage does not bring me comfort".

This was echoed by Teach-Piece, who added: "My heart started beating faster. Not fun."

The bronze-hued headed copperhead blends perfectly with its surroundings, and it's not until you really have a closer look that it becomes visible.

The eastern copperhead, which is a pit viper, is a venomous snake although its venom is relatively mild for humans.

It is endemic to North America, but related species of vipers of copperheads can also be found in Australia.

The snake's venom is haemolytic, which means it breaks down blood cells to kill its preys.
