A FOOD pro has shared how everyone has been making brussels sprouts wrong for years – as they revealed their way involves using cornflakes.
Em, who runs a foodie TikTok account called @myriadrecipes, said she’s come up with the perfect way to enjoy sprouts, as she makes them into a Christmas dip.
The social media influencer, who has 212,000 followers on TikTok has been sharing the unique ways she makes the most of sprouts in a series called ‘7 Days of Sprout Recipes.’
Em explained: “This 7 episode series (all on Brussels sprouts) is for those who love the humble sprout.
“And for those who aren’t so keen but really want to give them another try.
“My Brussels sprouts dip is a great place to start, it’ll be gobbled up in no time.”

She then shared exactly how it’s done, including how you only need sprouts, mayonnaise, garlic, cheese and pepper – and the unlikely cornflakes.
Sharing her failsafe method, @myriadrecipes explained: “This is my favourite Christmas dip to make and I promise you it’s a crowd pleaser.
“To start, you want to slice up your brussels sprouts and then combine them in a bowl with mayonnaise, garlic (two cloves), 1 teaspoon of black pepper and parmesan.
“Then pour the mixture into an oven dish.”

Em then said it’s where her secret ingredient comes in – as she sprinkles over some crushed cornflakes to provide “an extra crunch.”
At this point, she also adds another layer of cheddar cheese and pops it into the oven.
She bakes the dip for 15-20 minutes in a preheated oven at 200 degrees, and it’s then ready to serve.
